Tal and greetings to A/all.

This is the sub-board of welcome and new arrivals. 8 years ago it is been where i arrove officially as pledged member in GS after being arround quite often since 2005.
Now it is time to bid my fare wells and handback to the Senior Captain my helmet of sleen fur which i wore with so much pride and joy.
I´m freshly back from 2 weeks in hospital with a very sudden eyesight problem. I´m not half-blind, i´m suddenly and surprisingly double-blind. That means i see two pictures, one per eye as it should be but the two pictures don´t combine anymore to one 3-dimensional view of the world as it should be. That is a blurred, unsharp world. It makes it hard to read, type, look, walk and no driving at all, at least till it may have become better again. Life with it get used to it, let the brain learn to computerize those two picture right again, that has been the advice of the doctors. The whole problem is probably due to an eye-muscle weakness because of diabetes due to old age. I hope it will work out better again but that can last weeks, months or never - noone knows now.
Age is another reason why i have been less and less in GS and have been slow in doing my duties as Captain and as Slavemaster. That is why i retire now from both responsibilities.
Of cause i will remain a pledged member of our home but i will be hardly in anymore due to the two disturbing things in my life, eyesight problems and old age.
I wish all of you the best and may our home grow , flourish and bring much pleasure into your lifes.

Thorrn, thinking with a bright smile of all the wonderful and exciting times i had in GS.

Thorrn I hope things improve with your eyesight. Also that one day you can return to being an active member of GS and the Council. Until then I hope the Council will give you the title of Captain Emeritus. I wish you a speedy and full recovery.

I also am saddened by the news, Thorrn.... I have always had respect for You even on the few times I disagreed with You. You will be missed and I look forward to your return as a Captain Emeritus.

Jarl, slave Master, Captain, Friend, flicka's throat is tight with emotion, even though she knew this day was coming, to see Your words on the page makes it a reality.

From day one of flicka entering Gorean Shores You and Your slave snowrose were here, offering guidance and friendship.

Fare well Master, fare well as a large presence within out home, but not good bye because flicka hopes that she will speak with You more than occasionally in the future.

~warm, snuggly furry hug~

flicka.

Captain Thorrn, I and ruby are so sorry to hear of your issues and do hope that they can be resolved in time for you.

You were the first 'Master' I met in GS and in many ways you have shaped my progress in Gor. Not only are you very well respected but I have always looked at you as both a Mentor and friend.

You go even further back with ruby and there is undoubtedly a bond there which will remain.

Thorrn, you will be missed by A/all here in GS and will not be forgotten.

Jarl Thrrn,

i just wanted to step in and wish You well Jarl.

The few times we spoke You were so terribly kind and gracious towards my clumsy fumbling self.

Wishing Your eye sight a speedy recovery.
God bless,

Dear Jarl Thorrn
You have been in my thoughts and prayers a lot of late. I do hope Your eyesight fixes itself quickly and fully.

You are missed greatly by this girl.
GS won't be the same ever without You as Slave Master, there could be none to fullfill Your shoes anywhere near as greatly as You filled them Yourself!
Thank You for always being You.
with much love

*leaving hugs and a kiss*

Your friend always

I´m touched by all the well wishes and good thoughts expressed in here, thank you so much to A/all of you.
My view of the world is still doubled, maybe sometimes hinting that it may become better again. Yet Ms Thorrn still has do all the driving and Me the leading at the passengers seat *l*
Wishing A/all the best

Brother Thorrn,

We all hope that your vision improves and if possible returns to full service.

The Gods are cruel taskmasters to give long life with one hand, then rack our bodies with infirmities for reaching those later years …. It makes one ponder the fairness or perhaps the * LUCK * of not falling in battle while young and in top shape, to enter Valhalla fit and strong rather than living on, only to have time ravish our bodies …… there is no fairness or justice in living to the point where we are betrayed by our own bodies for simply living….

Our eyes fail …. Our ears cease to hear fully …. Our backs bend and refuse to move without pain …. It seems that the only part of use that does not always go to hell is our brains and so our memories …. It is the Bain and not the reward of growing old that lets us clearly remember what we * used * to be able to do but can not long manage … with each new pain or ailment that limits our movement or requires aid where none used to be necessary, our soul dies a little bit more each day ….

They say that * To be old and Wise, you must once have been young and stupid ..* This is so … but one must at times ask themselves if the prize is worth the cost ?

We can but keep on going and do whatever we still can do each day … I truly hope that your condition improves and wish you well, brother … you surely deserve it …. And if so, maybe there is still hope for an old sinner such as myself …. If not … I truly hope that the Gods see fit to bestow their blessings on you, brother ….

Be Well, and may Wodin the One eyed and All Father smile on you for the rest of your days…..
